The Deacon's Pantry (food bank) was formed at St. Jude's in 1983 as an Outreach program
to aid those in need of assistance in our community.
The food bank is managed by St.
Jude volunteers and is open every Wednesday from 10:00am until Noon and is closed during
the months of July and August.
We rely on you, the parishioners of St. Jude, to keep the Deacon's Pantry supplied, as
this is our only source of food (we receive nothing from the
Daily Bread Food Bank).
In 2001 we had 172 requests for assistance. The families include young
children and teenagers.
Our customers appreciate the help they receive and our
volunteers are always willing, time permitted, to have a friendly chat with them.
