“Welcome to the website for St Jude’s, Wexford”.

St Jude’s is a vibrant Anglican parish; serving this area of Toronto since 1848. We strive to be an open and welcoming faith community for any who are looking for a new spiritual home and for those who appreciate the liturgy of the Anglican Church. Especially during these challenging times, I hope you will take the time to see that our cause is hope – each and every day.

Help Our Group Raise Funds

By Using Gift Cards for Your Everyday Spending

More Information

Do you buy groceries, gas, household items, shop at department stores, do you eat in at restaurants, go to the movies or need gifts for holidays, birthday and special events?

FundScrip is a fundraising program that lets the Church of St. Jude (Wexford) raise much needed funds simply by purchasing gift cards to the stores you are already shopping at.

For example: you purchase a $100 grocery card and you will receive a $100 grocery card and a percentage of your purchase will be donated to the Church of St. Jude (Wexford).

We encourage you to invite your family members, friends, co-workers and neighbours to participate in FundScrip as well. After all, they probably buy groceries and gas just like you do.

How does this work?

1. Download/print form and fill it out with the quantity of cards for each retailer and sum up your order total (there are also printed paper forms available in the office if you do not have a printer at home).

2. Attach payment in cash or cheque (payable to: The Church of St. Jude (Wexford)) and drop off the filled form and payment at the secure mail box before Sunday November 20 , 2022.

OR

3. Email filled form to arbelaezml05@hotmail.com and send an e-transfer to The Church of St. Jude (Wexford) for your order total by Sunday November 20 , 2022. Please state “FundScrip gift cards” in the comment section.

4. The gift cards will be ready for pick up on Sunday December 4 , 2022, just in time for Christmas giving!

This is our second round of orders (our first round was a pilot of sorts), we will let you know in advance when the next round of orders can be issued!

Please do not hesitate to contact Lina Arbelaez if you have any questions.

Announcements for Sunday January 29, 2023

The Fourth Sunday after the Epiphany.

Face Masks recommended. We know that wearing a mask when attending in person worship is no longer mandatory; however, given the current rise in influenza, Covid-19, and other respiratory illnesses, we highly recommend the wearing of masks when indoors (realizing that when a single person is reading or preaching there is provision to remove your mask). We know that wearing a mask is a proven and effective measure of protection against Covid transmission.

We offer an on-line option for all worship services. Our services are available by Zoom, through our Facebook page, and are linked to the home page of our website, www.stjudewexford.ca.

Zoom information for Sunday worship. The information needed to connect for Sunday worship through Zoom is as follows: meeting ID: 857 6600 0074, password 449811. Please feel free to share this with those who may need to use this method to connect by phone to our worship service.

Office Hours. The parish office is open Tuesday to Friday from 9:00am – Noon. Our Food Bank. The Deacon’s Pantry Food Bank continues to operate every Wednesday (10:00am – Noon) under continued Covid-19 protocols.

New Diocesan Archdeacons. On Sunday January 15, 5 Archdeacons began their ministry in the Diocese. They will assist the College of Bishops with various duties; with the Diocese being reconfigured into 5 Archdeaconries. The Scarborough Deanery is now a part of the Central Archdeaconry with The Venerable Theodore Hunt as our Archdeacon. A further change for us is that Bishop Andrew Asbil will provide episcopal oversight for the Central Archdeaconry.

2022 tax receipts ready. Your 2022 tax receipts are prepared and ready to be picked up. To save on the cost of postage, we will keep them here in the parish until February 19; after that time any remaining will be sent in the mail.

Bible Buddies Sunday School. We are very happy to offer a fully bilingual Sunday school (English/Spanish). In consultation with the leaders of Bible Buddies, for the time being, we have decided to offer this program only at the time of the Spanish Mass ~ the first Saturday every month. Should we start to have renewed interest on Sundays, it will return on Sundays as well.

Monthly mass in Spanish. Our next monthly mass in Spanish will be on Saturday February 4 at 6:00pm. As usual, the mass will be streamed live on Facebook.

Notice of Annual Meeting of Vestry. Our annual meeting of Vestry will take place on Sunday February 19, 2023; following the service at 10:30am. The report will be available on Sunday February 12.

Parochial Report available. The Parochial report lists all those who are eligible to vote in our upcoming meeting of Vestry. Please check the binder to ensure you have been included. If you have any questions, please contact Fr Greg or one of the Wardens.

Sexual Misconduct Policy Training. In all we do, we are called to care for our neighbour and those most vulnerable in society. For most volunteer positions in parishes, a full understanding and acknowledgment of the Diocesan Sexual Misconduct Policy is required. If you have been asked to complete this review of materials, please visit our website and once complete, provide us with the completed Question and Answer Form and Acknowledgement Form by Sunday, February 19, 2023. Please contact the office if you have any questions.

Request for Palm Crosses. If you would like to return your palm crosses from previous years (to be used on Ash Wednesday), please return them to the office by Sunday February 12.
